The volunteer organizers have put this tournament together for all past and present Div. 583 members at large with the intent of making an inclusive event where we can have the chance to play with some co-workers that we may not get  to see regularly, play some good competative hockey, and have some fun to end the hockey season. While we encourge some good natured trash talk and of course, earning some bragging rights..Let's please try to remember that we are all non professional hockey players out there for fun, and we all have to work with one another when it's over!

Tournament Games:
-All players will register independently, and teams will be made with a draft to help ensure fairness of competition 
-Full player equipment is mandatory, and a half or full visor is highly encouraged
-No overtime will be played in round robin games, and each team will be awarded 1 point for a tie, and 2 points for a win
-Both teams are given a 30 second time out per period if they choose to use it
-All games will be played with a 3 minute warmup and (2) 25 minute runtime periods, with a 1 minute break between periods
-All games within a 3 goal score differential will play the last 3 minutes of the game in stop time, and shall not revert to runtime for the remainder of the game
-Time shall be stopped upon the whistle, and re-started once normal play continues for all penalties and penalty shots

-In the event of allotted ice time expiring before a game has finished due to time stoppages during the game, the game will end with the current score counted as final
-All teams, players and fans are reminded to be respectful of each other, the refereeing crews, and the facilties. All dressing rooms are to be left in an orderly manner

Tournament Rules:
-Any and all abuse of the game officials will not be tolerated, and will result in a misconduct penalty
-Any player given a second misconduct penalty for abuse of an official will be ejected from the game
-Fighting is not permitted, and will result in a match penalty
-Body checking is not permitted, and will result in a minor penalty
-Slap shots are not permitted, and any player raising their stick above their waist whilst shooting the puck will result in a stoppage of play, and no goal shall count
-Any puck shot to the head of a goalie moving in an upward or outward direction after contact will result in an immediate stoppage of play
-Any puck shot to the head of a goalie moving in a downward direction and into the net after contact will result in a goal scored for the shooting team
-All games will be officiated by a 2 man referee crew, and shall be governed by rules of play setout by Hockey Canada, as well as any specific rules added or changed by
   the tournament committee

Penalties:
-All minor penalties will be rewarded with a penalty shot, to be taken by the offended player
-All unsportsmanlike misconduct penalties will be rewarded with a penalty shot, to be taken by any player of the opposing team's players on the ice
-All major penalties will be rewarded with a penalty shot, taken by any player of the opposing team, and the offending player will serve 5 minutes in the penalty box
-All match penalties will result in the offending player being ejected for the remainder of the game, and the opposing team will be awarded 2 penalty shots
-All gross misconduct penalties will result in in the offending player being ejected for the remainder of the game, and the opposing team will be awarded 2 penalty shots
  The offending player shall not return to play in any future games until a review of the incident is conducted by the Tournament Comittee, who reserves the right to
  to extend the suspension based on severity of the incident

Playoffs:
-Tie breakers for standings going into the playoff round(s) will be determined in order of:
   1. Wins
   2. Score differential
   3. Goals against
   4. Penalty shots awarded to each team
   5. Coin Flip
-All playoff games tied at the end of regulation time will immediately go to a 3 on 3, 5 minute runtime overtime period
   If neccessary, overtime will be followed by a 3 player shootout, and if necessary, rounds of 1 shooter for each team added until a team wins.
   No player shall shoot more than once during the first 3 rounds of a shootout, after which any player(s) may shoot in any order, as choosen by the team
